Kent Hasler pitched a perfect game Sunday for the 14u Peloteros Baseball Club in the Triple Crown Sports Rubino Memorial Classic at Snedigar Sports Park in Chandler.

Hasler needed just 69 pitches to retire the minimum 21 batters he faced as the Peloteros, who went 2-1-1 in the two-day round-robin tournament, beat the Arizona A’s 4-0. He struck out five.

“To Kent’s credit, his success was attributed to numerous first-pitch strikes and the great work and communication with his catcher, Justin LaForce, as well as several key catches from outfielders Tylor Kerpan and Kaelin DeBoskie,” manager Tom Vetterl said.

Vetterl called Hasler “a mainstay pitcher for our team for quite some time.”

“It was wonderful to see that his hard work and dedication contributed to this young man’s great performance,” the coach said.

Peloteros players include Kaelin DeBoskie, Mitchell Feldman, Kevin Fowler, James Harrrington, Kent Hasler, Tylor Kerpan, Justin LaForce, Ryan Maes, Danny Rowan, George Valenzuela, and Justin Vetterl.
