The AZ Blaze Blue used a seventh-inning run to beat the AZ Prowlers 2-1 Sunday afternoon in the Nations Baseball Wood Bat II 13u championship at the Riverview Baseball Complex in Mesa.

The Prowlers quickly took the lead in the bottom of the first when Ryan Nelson hit a double, then scored on Tyler Wyatt’s single.

It stayed that way until the sixth, when Brock Hefron started the inning off for the Blaze with a triple to center, then scored on Joshua Webster’s single to left. A double play by the Prowlers Spiro Valasakos, Chris Isbel and Rudy Karre kept the score 1-1.

The Blaze turned a double play of their own in the sixth, Austin Bull to Webster to Riley Collier, setting up the decisive seventh, when Chris Kobar hit a triple to left then scored on Zach Pederson’s single.
