“This is the first time these kids have played together,’’ coach Gene Kober said. “They have great chemistry. It’s a fun group to coach.”
With the club tournament season dwindling, this weekend was possibly the final opportunity to play in game conditions before the playoffs, Kober said. So the team entered both days.

Izzy Bracamontes hit a three-run homer as the Outsiders won the 14u Gold title.
Ivan Villela hit a solo shot in the third inning for the Outsiders. Juan Gonzales had a single, scored a run and was the winning pitcher.
The Monsoon, a 13u team playing up, got to the Gold final, rallying in the seventh to beat the Outsiders 4-3.
In the rematch, Bracamontes closed out the game with two scoreless innings.
