The Litchfield Park Tigers were as hot at the weather as they burned through the Super Series Summer Classic 10u field in their final prep for the Elite 32.

The Tigers won their three pool games by a combined 53-0 Saturday, a day when temperature reached 110 degrees. Chandler Blue managed to press them in semifinal, which the Tigers won 5-4. The Tigers regained their dominant form in the final, beating the Sandlot All-Stars 10-1 at the Surprise Recreation Complex.

Matthew Dyer was 14-for-16 for the tournament. Tyler Smith pitched a compete game in the final, and Rylan Collin was 2-for-3.

The Tigers will head for Orlando, Fla. on July 9 for the USSSA Elite 32.

11u championship

The Arizona Knights came from behind in their semifinal and again in the final to win the championship.

In the title game, Caleb Curruso singled to score pinch runner Luke Howe in the bottom of the sixth for a walkoff 7-6 win over the Arizona Monsoon. Joey Wintermeyer started the rally with a lead off single.

The Knights trailed 6-2 in the fifth inning. They tied the game on Matt Sill's sacrifice bunt.

"One thing about this team is they never give up,'' coach Tom Kirchheimer said.

Walker Boyd had a single and double and two RBI in the victory. Dimetre Moore had an RBI single.

12u championship

Mario Jaimie had a ground rule double and two singles and drove in the winning run as the Arizona Pilots defeated the Litchfield Park Tigers 8-4 in the title game.

Winning pitcher Alexander Bazua threw a complete game. Tom Ortiz had two hits and scored twice.
