Team Arizona took a 6-1 record into Tuesday’s games at the Sunbelt Classic baseball tournament for high school juniors in Oklahoma.

Still ahead for Arizona are Georgia and unbeaten Tennessee.

Arizona lost its first game, falling to Texas 4-1. The only run came when Pinnacle’s Jake Peavyhouse homered.

Arizona got on the winning track in a 14-2 thumping of Oklahoma Gold. Cody Moffet  of Highland turned in a solid pitching performance. Drew Stankiewicz  of Gilbert went 3-for-4 with three RBI, and Steve Casey of Pinnacle went 2-for-2 with a homer.

Casey Thomas of Desert Vista  went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Zach Davies of Mesquite went 1-for-3 with a double, and Cole Gleason of Red Mountain went 2-for-2.
