Two Arizona players earned invitations to the USA Baseball 16U National Team trials.

Catcher Robert Chase of Desert Vista High School and pitcher Zach Davies of Mesquite High School and 16 others from the West selected to go to 16U National Team Trials in Southern California in early August.

Chase and Davies were two of only six West invitees from outside California.

The players were chosen from the 72 teams that played at the 16U Championships West in Peroria and Surprise, which finished up Saturday (6/27).

Eighteen players were invited from the 16U Championships East.
