Scottsdale, which won its first game 35-1 Tuesday night, found the going much slower in the nightcap of the Cal Ripken state tournament.

Surprise starter Brody McDougal kept the powerful Scottsdale hitters off balance with a mix of off-speed offerings and left with a 2-1 lead after four innings. Scottsdale rallied and came away with a 3-2 walkoff victory in the 12u (70-foot bases) division.

Hunter Bross singled to drive in pinch runner Jack Melbostad with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth. Ian Sanger opened the inning with a single.

Kaleb Young pitched a complete game victory for Scottsdale.

Sanger had two triples and a double and scored four times in Scottsdale’s victory over All Sports, a continuation of a game suspended Monday. Colin Wilfong singled three times, walked once and scored four runs. Brady Bocks had three singles and a walk.

12u-60 Division

Dynamite won an 11-8 thriller over RAMMS in extra innings. Colton Quitno broke an 8-8 in the 10th with a sacrifice fly to right that scored Curtis Demarcus. Dominic Amadio singled to plate Caleb Price and Alex Adams.

Somerton finished off a continuation game with a 19-0 victory over Surprise. Juan Cardenas struck out eight in three innings. Jorge Duarte was 3-for-4 and scored four times.

11u Division

Austin Miller was the winning pitcher and plated the final run as Surprise beat RAMMS 13-3. Anthony Davis went 3-for-4 and scored three runs.
