RAMMS swept two games Wednesday night to wrap up the 11u Cal Ripken baseball state title.

RAMMS beat Surprise 13-3. In the nightcap, Henry Travland reached base three times, and Hunter Besore pitched a shutout, tripled and scored the final run in a 10-0 victory over Dynamite that clinched the title at the Surprise Recreation Campus.

RAMMS, which stands for Recreation Association of Madison Meadows and Simi schools, will head to Sparks, Nev. for regional play.

“This is the first RAMMS team to make it out of the state tournament,’’ coach Dave Caddell said. “The kids deserve this. They worked really hard.”

12-70 Division

Scottsdale remained unbeaten, pounding All-Sports 19-0. David Evans hit one out of the park and was the winning pitcher.

Luke Rubenzer singled, doubled and tripled. Brandon Berger had two singles and a triple. Ty Macias had two doubles and a triple.

Tate Matheny doubled. Kaleb Young reached base four times. Hunter Bross tripled, and Payton Kruidenier hit a double.

The victory sets up a rematch with Surprise (2-1) Thursday night. Scottsdale can clinch the title with a win.

12-60 Division

Somerton remained unbeaten in bracket play. Hugo Perez doubled twice and Juan Torres struck out eight in an 11-0 victory over Dynamite.
