Dee Grayer of Chandler has been appointed American Youth Football commissioner effective immediately. He will replace Bill Brown, who resigned to concentrate on his private business.
Grayer is a San Jose State graduate and former pro football player. He has helped guide Chandler Youth Football for several years, including a stint as association president. He served as the AYF State Diplomat for Arizona and was an assistant coach and head coach for the West team at the 2009 and 2010 Under Armour AYF All Star Games.
Under Grayer’s leadership, CYF conducted Matt Leinart's Charity Snoop Bowl during Super Bowl XLII, began the annual Spotlight Dinner, participated in Kurt Warner's Ultimate Football Experience and created the Turkey Tee Off Celebrity Golf Fundraiser.
"AYF is pleased to have someone of Dee's qualifications and enthusiasm to assume the post of Football Commissioner. Dee will work with AYF's national/tournament conferences and coordinate the football aspect of the National Championships and the Under Armour/AYF All Star Game," AYF executive director Jessica Abramovich said.
Former commissioner Brown said, "Dee Grayer has shown fine leadership skills and I wish him success with AYF and I will certainly be there to support Dee in any way he needs." |
