As the temperature began to drop, the Desert Highlands Wolfpack heated up the CAYFL All-American championship game Saturday night, beating the Buckeye Bolts 45-0 at Chaparral High School.

The cool weather did not slow the potent Wolfpack offense, as the team put up scores on their third offensive play of the game. The Wolfpack scored five more times in the first half before running out the clock in the third and fourth quarters.

Wolfpack playmaker Tyler Townsley put together a highlight reel on both sides of the ball. On offense, Townsley ran for a 52-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and he intercepted a pass on defense and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown two plays later. He added another interception later in the game.

Quarterback Devon Palomino also put together some impressive numbers as he led the Wolfpack offense. Palomino finished the night 4 -for-8 passing for 49 yards and a touchdown.

Braden Reber scored when he returned a punt 55 yards in the second half.

Defensively, the Wolfpack forced one fumble. Townley, Nicholas Vivola and Mitchell Johnson all had interceptions.

Quarterback Dominick Moreno provided some offense for the Bolts, running for 33 yards.
