Xavier defeated Corona del Sol and Chandler bringing Xavier record to 7-0.

Both matches were won with an 8-1 varsity and 9-0 junior varsity score.

The No. 1 varsity singles with Corona del Sol  Tuesday was a close match. Brittany Messer of Corona beat Xavier’s Carissa Pappas 11-7, 13-11. Messer with partner Riki Gurule fought another tough match against No. 1 varsity doubles Cate Welch and Danielle Dozer.  Xavier won 17-16, 8-15, 15-11 score.

In No. 3 varsity doubles, with Xavier’s Julia Freidman and Jessica Michael needed to go the distance before beating Corona’s Alexis Emmerson and Christine Tang, 15-3, 13-15, 15-13.

Chandler’s lone victory Thursday came when Chandler Begay defeated Pappas 11-6, 11-5 in No. 1 varsity singles.

Xavier’s junior varsity played some strong singles matches. No. 3 Kerstin Ozkan winning 11-2, 11-1 and No. 6 Jamie Hulsey winning 11-0, 11-1.
