The Phoenix Polar Bears’ impressive streak in overtime games in the playoffs came to an end Friday night.

The Bears, who won three games in overtime in the Western State Hockey League playoffs, lost the opener of the league finals 5-4 when Jamison Wicks scored in the extra period for the Boulder Bisons at Chandler Polar Ice.

Game 2 was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Chandler Polar Ice. A final game, if needed, is scheduled for Sunday at Chandler Polar Ice.

Wicks sent the game into overtime, scoring with 4:01 left in the third period.
