Hannah Carson finished the Sun Angel Track Classic with victories in five events, including the women’s open/ college javelin, and led Chandler to the girls high school team title.

Chandler rolled up 158.50 in the girls team standings in the three-day meet that finished Saturday at Arizona State University’s Sun Angel Stadium. Highland was second with 65.50. Desert Vista was third with 57 and Hamilton was fourth with 52.

Chandler won the boys title with 104.5 points. Desert Vista was second with 69.5. Westwood was third with 40 and Hamilton was fourth with 37.

Carson won the women’s javelin Saturday night with a throw of 50.98 meters or 167 feet, 3 inches. It was her second best mark of the season behind the 171-9 she threw in Texas the previous weekend.

Stephanie Ralls of Cal State Northridge was second with 161-0.

Earlier on Saturday, Carson won the open girls shot put (42-10.5) at the Arcadia Invitational in California

Carson opened the meet of Thursday with a victory in the girls 100 meter hurdles (15.91 seconds). She won the discus (128-5), the shot (41-5) and the high jump (5-2).

Jasmine Todd of Chandler won the long jump in 18-1.75, the top mark in the state this season, and the triple jump (36-10.75).

Serene Williams of Peoria won the girls 100 (12.08) and 200. Her 200 time of 24.92 was a state best this season.

Tess Berghoff of Arcadia won the 800 in state-best 2 minutes, 15.87 seconds.

In the boys long jump, Anders Battle edged Dylan Williams of Hamilton, 22-4 to 22-0. Battle also topped William’s season leading mark by two inches.

Chandler had two individual winners in the boys competition. Jared Gonzales won the 800 meters (1:58.38), just edging Julio Martinez of Trevor Browne. Yusuf Muhammad won the 300 hurdles (38.54).
