Ryan Milus of Hamilton High School finished seventh Friday in the 100 meters at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.
Milus, running unattached, turned in a time of 10.43 seconds in the final, which was won by Marcus Rowland of Auburn in 10.02.
Milus ran 10.48 in the preliminaries and was the eighth and final qualifier for the final.
Milus' best time is 10.33, which tied the state record first set in 1979.
Hannah Carson of Chandler High School and Arizona Cheetahs will compete Saturday in the women's javelin. She has with a season best of 152 fteet, 11 inches and is the No. 3 high school javelin thrower in the nation.
Will Claye of Oklahoma, a Mountain Pointe High School graduate, is entered in the long jump and triple jump, which begin competition Saturday. Claye is the top-ranked triple jumper in the country.
Samantha Collin of Westwood High School and the Arizona Flames is competing in the haptathlon, which begins Saturday. She is reanked second among athletes who comepted in high school this season.
