Chase Cord won his third event of the Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Ypsilanti, Mich., and three Dyson girls placed in the top five in the youth (14u) girls javelin.
Cord of the Northwest Xpress won the bantam (10u) boys high jump Saturday with a leap of 1.35 meters. Cord previously won the triathlon and the shot put. Marcus Naisant of the Arizona Flames was third (1.30 meters). Dominic DeVictor of the Phoenix Bobcats was seventh (1.15).
Renee Dyson of the Phoenix Bobcats won the youth girls (14u) javelin throw with a throw of 33.19 meters. Taylor Dyson was second with a 29.49. Lizabeth Dyson was fifth with 28.08 meters.
Arizona athletes fared well in the bantam boys long jump. Naisant was second with a leap of 4.22 meters. Jeremiah Pruitt of the Phoenix Bobcats was fourth with 3.94 meters and DeVictor was sixth, going 3.69 meters.
Rico Tipton of Arizona Speed United was second in the midget (12u) boys high jump, clearing 1.65 meters.
In the youth girls 4x100 meter relay, the Southern California Comets edged the Arizona Cheetahs for the title. The Comets finished in 48.37 seconds, the Cheetahs in 48.42.
Arizona Elite was fifth in young womens (18u) 4x100 (48.14).
Kristina Vanderhout of the Arizona Flames finished third in the intermediate (16u) girls 800 , clocking 2 minutes, 16.87 seconds. She was sixth in the 3000 (10:58.49).
Rebekah Green of Northwest Xpress finished second in the bantam girls 200 (29.78).
Jamaal Jones of the Phienix Bobcats was second in the intermediate boys javelin (47.08) .
Alex Smyth of the Arizona Flames was fourth in the young mens discus (46.89). |
