Kristina Vanderhout of the Arizona Flames and Ryan Silva of Tucson Elite won 1500-meter titles Sunday, and Northwest Xpress tied for a team title at the USA Youth Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

On the final day of competition, Vanderhout won the intermediate (16u) girls 1500-meter run, finishing in 4 minutes, 46.66 seconds. It was her second title of the meet. She also won the 2000 steeple chase.

Silva won the youth (14u) boys title, clocking 4:09.44. Northwest Xpress tied for the team title in bantam (10u) girls. Northwest Xpress tied Durham Striders in the standings with 32 points.

Points are given for individual and relay finishes in the top eight. First is worth 10, second is eight, third is six, fourth is five, fifth is four, sixth is three, seventh is two, and eighth is worth one point.

In boys bantam, Northwest Xpress finished fifth with 30 points. The Arizona Cheetahs were third in the youth girls scoring with 48 points, four point behind the leader Southern California Comets.

The Arizona Flames finished seventh in the intermediate girls. Kory Wilson of Northwest Xpress was second in the midget boys 80 meter hurdles, turning in a time of 12.48 seconds.

Cadijah Harris of the Arizona Cheetahs was second in the intermediate high jump, clearing 1.65 meters.

Sherrelle Jordan of the Arizona Cheetahs was third (15.14) in the youth girls 100 hurdles, and Makaila Flannigan was fifth (15.43).

Rebekah Green of Northwest Xpress was third (1:06.55) in the bantam girls 400 and fifth in the 100 (14.36).

Alex Smyth of the Arizona Flames placed fifth in the young men's (18u) hammer throw. It was his third top-five finish in a throwing event at the meet. He was fifth in the shot put and fourth in the discus
