Ashanti Grayer of the Arizona Cheetahs led an Arizona sweep of the first three places in the bantam (10u) girls shot put last weekend (7/8-7/11) at the Region 10 Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships in Provo, Utah.

Grayer won the event with a toss of 7.07 meters. Cairra Page-Stevens of the Mustangs took  second (6.86) and Chyna Anderson of Do Right was third (6.28). Page-Stevens won the javelin throw with a mark of 21.34.

Arizona athletes finished 1-2-3 in the intermediate (16u) girls heptathlon. Brittany Jones of Pops Track Club won with 3893 points. Cadija Harris of the Cheetahs was second with 3137, and Amanda Sims was third with 3092. Harris won the high jump, clearing 1.65 meters.

Kyla Richardson of Arizona Speed United won the midget (12u) girls 200 meters (26.86 seconds) and 400 (1 minute, 0.44 seconds). Teammate Kayla Richardson was second in the 400 in 1:01.43.

Serene Williams of Arizona Rising Suns won the young women’s (18u) 100 (12.12) and 200 (24.78) .

Aubree Incardone of the Arizona Flames won the girls bantam 200 (29.25) and long jump (4.25).

Jamesse Evans of Do Right won the young women’s hammer throw  (22.88)  and the discus throw  (37.29).

Samantha Collins of the Arizona Flames won the young women’s heptathlon, accumulating 3938 points.
