Abrianna Torres of Tucson Elite placed second Friday in the intermediate (16u) girls jump at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships in Greensboro, N.C.

Torres jumped 5.84 meters, finishing behind Robin Reynolds of Miami Northwest (5.95).

Rico Tipton of Arizona Speed United was third in the midget (12u) boys high jump (1.55). Shavel Evans-Austin of Tucson Elite was eighth (1.45).

Christopher Rodriguez of Tucson Elite finished fifth (53.24) in the young men’s (18u) javelin. Erwin Jones of the Phoenix Bobcats was sixth (52.06).

Shamar Moreland of Do Right was fifth in the bantam (10u) boys high jump (1.30).

Ashley Weber, competing unattached, was sixth in the intermediate girls shot (11.31).
