Ryan Silva of Tucson Elite won the youth (14u) boys 800 meters Saturday, joining Cairra Page-Stevens of the Mustangs as the only individual winners from Arizona at the USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Championships.

Silva ran the 800 at the North Carolina A&T track in Greensboro in 1 minute, 58.87 seconds, about two seconds off the national and meet record and meet record set by Cody Harper of Albuquerque in 2001.

Page-Stevens won the bantam (10u) girls shot put Thursday with a toss 7.97 meters. Ashanti Grayer of the Arizona Cheetahs was 11th (6.81m).

Arizona has done well in the throwing events.  Hannah Carson of the Cheetahs finished second in the intermediate (16u) girls javelin throw with a 41.80-meter mark The Cheetahs’ Dominic Nappe was second in the youth boys shot (15.93). And Arizona had two top 10 finishers in the intermediate boys javelin throw – Travis Colby of  Arizona Puma was fifth (51.83) and  Jamaal Jones of the Phoenix Bobcats was 10th (48.12).

Ashley Weber, competing unattached, was 10th in the intermediate girls discus throw (33.04). Taylon Wesley of the Arizona Saints was 10th in the bantam boys javelin (26.08).

Natalie Clark of the Arizona Flames was second in the bantam girls high jump (1.25).

Alysoune Coleman of the Flames was sixth in the youth girls 800 (2:19.92).  Paul Lucas of Do Right was seventh in the midget (12u)  boys 200 (25.42). Marquise Griffin of the Arizona Titans was seveth in the bantam boys 200 (28.80).
