Sarah Schmidt and Brianna Decker of Mountain View finished 1-2 in the girls varsity race Saturday in the Doug Conley Cross Country Invitational at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Tempe. The team title went to Pinnacle, led by third–place finisher Christen Collins.

Schmidt won in 18 minutes, 52.25 seconds. Decker finished in 18:56.08 and Collins in 19:05.78. Mountain View finished ninth in the team standings.

Lacey Kalinen of Pinnacle was fourth in 19:06.29. The cumulative time for Pinnacle’s five scoring runners was 99:59.04, edging Desert Vista (100:51.97). Desert Vista was led by Megan Kupres, who finished 10th (19:37.90), and Jenna Maack, who finished 11th (19:41.81).

Other scorers for Pinnacle were Kyndal Sorenson, who finished 29th (20:18.41), Sydney Mierau, who was 42nd ( 20:36.72) and Nicole Zampino, who finished 53rd (20:51.84).
