DFSC Desert Elite ’96 Red beat the North Valley ’96 in penalty kicks Saturday in the first round of the 2010 State Cup U14 girls tournament at Reach 11 Sports Complex.

Lindsey Robertson put away the fifth and game-winning PK for the Desert Elite when she finished a hard shot to the left. Desert Elite goalie Kayla King blocked three out of the five North Valley PK’s for the win.

The game, although scoreless, was dominated by the Desert Elite, who controlled the play and had multiple shots on goal throughout the game.

The North Valley goalie, Asthefanny Barreras, had a great game, making no mistakes in regular time and blocking the Desert Elite’s fourth PK attempt.
