Saturday's State Cup soccer action from Reach 11 in Phoenix.

CISCO 93 Black Wolverines 3, Sereno 93 White 2 (penalty kicks)

CISCO goalkeeper Matt Bersano was mobbed by his teammates after he made the final save to win the U17 boys match in penalty kicks.

But he said he was relying on them after Sereno took an early lead in the penalty kick phase.

“I just had faith that the shooters would come through, and they did,’’ Bersano said.

The victory gave CISCO a berth in the final Sunday against Gilbert Arsenal and sealed an at-large berth in the Region IV tournament.

Sereno 96 White 3, Banat 96 Gold 0

Olivia Struckman, Lindsey Martin and Nikki Waltz scored as Sereno 96 White won the U14 girls title, the group’s fourth straight State Cup title.

Sereno won the Far West League and qualified for the Region IV tournament but was highly motivated for the state tournament.

“Winning State Cups is their legacy,’’ coach Paul Lester said.

Syndey Harden played a solid game in goal. Serno received strong performances from Gabbi Stoian and Lexa Austin, a center back who was playing with a broken toe.

TSA 95 Red 2, Sereno 95 White 1 (penalty kicks)

Colin O’Brien score the winning penalty kick as Tucson Soccer Academy Red won the U15 boys championship.

Jalen Wade scored for Tucson in the second half, forcing overtime. Cam Rivera played an outstanding game in goal.

“I’m not surprised this went to penalty kicks,’’ TSA coach Charlie Kindrick said.

Sereno 95 White 1, TSA 95 Red 0

Jamie Iurota scored late in the second half as Sereno took the U15 girls title.

Goalkeeper Cassie Miller played a strong game. Marissa Smith and Tasha Coleman anchored the Sereno defense.

Scottsdale 96 Blackhawks 2, Tuzos Pachuca 96 1

Adam Mosharcafa and Grant Galen scored for the Blackhawks, who forced a second U14 boys title game Sunday.

Goalkeeper Chase Bishov shut out Tuzos Pachuca in the first half.

Noah Bolovich scored for Tuzos. Blackhawks goalkeeper Phillip Mourikes made a spectacular leaping save late in the game to preserve the victory.
