Sereno 95 White's impressive bid for the U14 girls regional title came to an end Friday, when they were defeated 3-0 in Lancaster, Calif. by eventual region champ Northern California Mustang Blast.

The Arizona champion girls, who had never won a regional tournament game before, managed to place first in their bracket with a 2-0-1 record.

The Sereno girls defeated the Colorado champion Colorado Rush on Monday 2-0. Jordan Parkhurst and Kalie Jonovich scored the goals for Sereno.

The girls then proceeded to defeat Northern California's Arsenal FC in an early morning affair Tuesday by a score of 1-0. Kalie Jonovich scored the lone goal. With the win over the Arsenal, Sereno guaranteed themselves first place in their bracket and a spot in the quarterfinals.

Sereno tied the Utah Rush 1-1 Wednesday in a windy battle.

After three straight days of tournament soccer, the girls were rewarded with a day of rest and a chance to relax and enjoy a day of pedicures, movies and a cookout.

Sereno resumed play Friday with their quarterfinal game against the Blast. Although disappointed by the loss, the team was proud of their progress and overall successful season.
