The unbeaten Titans (11-0) fell behind late in the second half when Notre Dame freshman forward Rachel Johns received a through ball past the Arcadia back line from Madison Reisdorf, which she dribbled past the goalie for an easy pass into the net.

Varela, Arcadia’s lead scorer, tied it up in the last five minutes when she put away a penalty kick, leading her team into overtime.

Varela scored again in the first minute of the second half in overtime to the Titans the lead. She took a quick free kick into the right corner of the net from the top of the box before a whistle on an unready Saints defense.

Finally, Varela cemented the Titans’ victory with a volley into the right corner of the net off a bouncing pass from Tianna Stewart.
