Scorpio started strong, with Cyra Wentz and Alisha Ramirez both crossing home after getting on base with bunts in the first inning. Ashley Hall got the Outlaws on the board to end the inning 2-1 Scorpio.

Scorpio scored three times in the second. Monique Ayonaon and Kelly Peterson hit back-to-back doubles. Senia Martinez’s sacrifice set up an RBI single by Wentz, plating Peterson.

The Outlaws put up a five-spot in the third. Amanda Byler, Ciara Cruz, Rickie Garcia and Camille McIver all scored runs, ending the third at 6-5.

Scorpio took the lead again in the fourth when CeCe Madrid slammed a home run over the fence with Martinez, who had drawn a walk, on base, giving Scorpio a 7-6 lead.

With the time limit looming, the Outlaws scord twice in the fifth and final inning to pull out the win. Running for Garcia, Cruz made her way around the bases and crossed home on a pitch to the screen. Kirah Mueller had the game-winning RBI, scoring Jaclyn Jayo.

“We’ve got a ways to go, but I am very proud of the girls,” said Outlaws coach Mike Corkin.
