The AZ Killer Bees have stamped their ticket to the USA/ASA Class A 16u Fast Pitch National Championship Finals with a first place finish in the ASA Hall of Fame Tournament in Oklahoma City.

The Bees finished the mid-June tournament a perfect 6-0. The team far exceeded their own goals, as they outplayed the other 25 teams competing in the tournament. The Bees defeated the Virginia Legends 4-2 to secure their undefeated mark.

"We went there hoping to finish in the top 8, which would qualify us for Nationals in South Dakota," said head coach Mike Grimaldi. "Winning it was the icing on the cake."

The National Championship tournament begins July 26 in Sioux Falls. The Bees join the Desert Thunder as the only teams representing Arizona in the tournament.

The Bees will also be participating in the ASA 16u A Arizona State Championship beginning July 10.
