The Desert Wolves rallied past the Desert Shock 8-7 Sunday for the 18uA championship game of the TCS Bobblehead tournament at Sahuaro Ranch in Glendale.

The Wolves struggled early, falling behind 3-0. Heather Jozwick scored to make it 3-1 after two innings, but in the third, Kari Hall singled home Bailey Banb, and Sam Redman later scored to make it 5-1 Shock. They added another run when Emma Harman smashed a line drive, plating Jamie Morgan.

Morgan hit a two-run triple in the fourth, bringing home Jessica Poole and Jess Green, to make it 5-3.

Chelsea Thorne’s line-drive single for Shock made it 6-3, but Green capped the Wolves comeback with a game-tying single. The Wolves won it in the bottom of the seventh, Jessica Whitis driving in Poole with a single.

After awards were distributed, coach Mark Villalpando had both good and bad news for his players.

“Bad news is you guys have practice tomorrow,” he said. “Good news is you have an entire week off for Thanksgiving.”
