Queen Creek defeated host McClintock 12-2 Thursday afternoon in softball action at McClintock High.

Sophomore Amanda Baldwin pitched the game for the Bulldogs (6-4). She shut out McClintock (1-12) until the sixth inning.

“Our goal is to become a state contender,” Queen Creek coach Katie Bundy said.

She has a young team. There are five freshmen, five sophomores and only two seniors.

“We stay focused by playing as a team,” Bundy said.
