The day was wet, but Katelyn Boyd was on fire Saturday as ASU swept two softball games at Farrington Stadium in the Littlewood Classic.

Boyd, a former Horizon and Arizona Hotshots star, went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in as the Sun Devils beat Texas State 6-3 and went 2-for-4 with a homer in a 7-4 win over Iowa.

ASU, ranked fifth in both major polls, ran its record to 8-2.

In the first game, ASU pitcher Hillary Bach ran her record to 3-0, giving up six hits and striking out two.

Former Paradise Valley star Annie Lockwood went 1-for-4 and scored a run, and Basha graduate Sam Parlich was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Lacy Goodman, who played at Red Mountain and Phoenix College, went 2-for-4, scored twice and drove in two runs.

In the second game, winner Megan Elliott (4-1) struck out five as ASU came from behind to beat the Hawkeyes.

Lockwood went 3-for-4, and Parlich was 2-for-2 with a key sacrifice.
