Hotshots Gold-Gatti stars Dallas Escobedo and Lauren Haeger have been chosen for the USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team.

They were among 17 players selected to the team, which will play in the III Pan American Softball Championship (18-and-under), Aug. 6-15 in Bogota, Colombia. The event serves as a qualifier for the International Softball Federation (ISF) IX Junior Women's World Championship (19-and-under), Dec. 6-17, 2011, in Cape Town, South Africa.

Escobedo played at St. Mary’s and is headed to ASU next fall. Lauren Haeger plays at Deer Valley and has committed to Florida.

A total of 42 players were invited to the tryouts in Chula Vista, Calif.. Among the invitees was Sierra Roridguez of Basha and the Killer Bees.

Stacy Iveson, coach at Yavapai College, is an assistant coach of the team.
