Kennedy Williams struck out 14 batters and walked only three Friday night as the Tigers beat the Gators 9-6 for the Arcadia Little League minor division softball title at Ingleside Middle School in Phoenix.

“Kennedy Williams was just great tonight,’’ manager Doug Eaton said.

In their last at-bat, the tenacious Gators rallied for three runs and loaded the bases, but Williams as able to work out of the jam.

Bella Wade had two singles and scored a run to lead the Tigers’ attack. Williams had a single and scored a run. Danielle Hougen and Claire Folger each walked, singled and scored a run for the Tigers.

Teghan LaFond, Ryan Byler, Katie Murphy and Taylor Paulson each walked and scored a run. Hannah Wedan singled and scored a run.

For the Gators, Lily Hartley singled twice, walked and scored a run. Haley Denning, Dana Henderson and Dakota Sullivan each singled twice and scored once.

Katie Reed and Chloe Whittemore each scored a run. Hannah Jacobson singled twice.

The Tigers’ roster included Lindsey Louer, Nicole Hout, Sarah Bruntz and Kate Eaton.

The Gators’ roster included Savana Carlson, Madison Morgan, Mikayla Farmer, Meghan Ellet and Kelly Richmond.
